Week Of September 29th
Fr Aidan Peter Writes:

Well, after a wonderful Festival Sunday last week, where we had great weather, fabulous food, and lots of games, talent, laughter and fellowship, I want to thank Christine and Debbie, ‘the real dynamic duo” for all their great efforts over the last few months to “Get the show on the road”. It was very well organized and laid out, without too many hitches and a very efficient tidy up. I think it was the earliest ever because so many of you – and especially our younger members -helped with that, let’s face it, tedious task. I want to thank all those who helped the leadership coordinate and run the food booths (most of which sold out) the raffles, cake walk and the games etc for the children. Great work and done with great commitment to the parish. We do not have a total yet but we will let you know when we do.

There is a fuller thank you included on another page of this bulletin.

Next week we are in October, the month devoted to Our Lady of the Rosary. Could I ask you to remember our Blessed Mother with great devotion during that month? All mothers worry about their children and I would ask you to think about those who leave the Church. Many people are leaving the church for many disparate reasons, rejecting the church’s teachings and not practicing the faith established by our heavenly Mother’s Son our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Lady must be worried and tearful about this. Let us be like St Monica, who prayed constantly for her son (St) Augustine’s conversion, and pray constantly for those who struggle with the faith and who need our prayerful support to keep it and not abandon it. Perhaps in October you could offer a Rosary for their intentions.

God bless you and your families

and as the old valediction goes “Keep the faith”!

May God bless you, your families, and the week ahead,

Fr Aidan Peter
