Week of September 11, 2022
Fr Aidan Peter Writes:

Dear Parishioners,

Last week we started a drive for more engagement with the liturgical ministries here at the parish.

We need more Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Greeters and several more. Please see last week’s bul- letin or the handout in the racks, and please step forward to help. This week I wish to focus on three other ministries that are essential for the life of the church and our community of worship.

Firstly, Altar Servers. We need to rebuild our group of servers for every Mass. The Covid period decimated this ministry. We are working with the schools but anyone can serve; most especially I would like anyone from Grade 5 through to Senior at High School to come forward and serve at the altar of God. It is a great ministry through which to grow in faith, be of service to the parish and help the priests who need your help. Moms and Dads, please encourage your young one to get involved. We will provide full training support and also a social life aspect to this work. (Service hours can be considered)

Secondly, the Decorative Environment Ministry needs to build up its team. There have been a few regular members but some have moved and some have retired. The church looks outstanding for the great feasts but also it evolves with the liturgical seasons throughout the year. This does not just hap- pen as if by magic, a dedicated team ensures the visual environment enfolds and inspires our worship.

Thirdly, there is the Saturday Morning Martha Ministry (as I call it!) that helps set up things for the weekend of worship ahead: sorting out the flowers, the books, and other such matters. More hands to help would be great.

Fourthly, I would like to institute a new group, the Church Landscaping Group. We need help with maintaining and developing the Gathering Area and the beds round the church to provide a beautiful and welcoming aspect to the church.

See the handout for this week in this bulletin or in the racks.

May God bless you, your families, and the week ahead,

Fr Aidan Peter
