October is developing into a busy month of opportunities to learn more about our faith and celebrate it, our ethical life and practical ways of supporting the ministries of the parish, our missionary endeavors and charitable outreach. Let us do all this in honor of our Blessed Lady of the Rosary and in thanksgiving for our newly refurbished Gathering Area.

THIS WEEKEND 5/6 OCT

RESPECT FOR LIFE; one of the bedrocks of Catholic morality and ethics will be a focus at all Masses and After all Masses at SLdM there will be a Respect for Life stall and cake sale in The Gathering Area. BETHLEHEM GIFTS will have stall of items for sale in the Gathering Area at SLdM; the proceeds go to support Christians in the Holy city of Bethlehem.

THIS WEEK

“HOW TO GET TO HEAVEN FOR DUMMIES” presented by JESSE ROMERO,

The well known and respected dynamic and humorous theologian and Catholic Evangelist,

on Tuesday 8th 6.30 pm in Spanish and again on Wednesday 9th 6.30 pm in English

NEXT WEEKEND OF 12/13

ROSARY CRUSADE FOR AMERICA Saturday 12th at 12 – noon. This is our part of the national ‘Public Square Rosary” for America. Come and join us on the softball pitch and call upon of Blessed Mother’s intercession for our nation.

SHINE RETREAT will be in full swing all weekend please pray for the retreatants and the team.

YOUTH GROUP BAKE SALE after all Masses at SLdM

THE WEEKEND OF 19/20

JOSEPHITE MISSION APPEAL. This is our annual appeal for the work of the Josephite Fathers in Africa serving thousands of children in education and missions in Congo, Gabon and Cameroon.

ST MONICA NOVENA. After Masses in the Gathering Area an information booth will present this Novena prayer to St Monica to pray for the return to the practice of the faith of disaffiliated Catholics.

THE WEEKEND 26/27

DOUG AND NATALIE HALVORSEN COAT AND BLANKET DRIVE This is one of our amazing annual moments of direct charity. Bring used but clean coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies, blankets and sleeping bags and NEW [only new!] socks for the homeless in our city and valley.

So many opportunities, let’s make good use of them and grow deeper as God’s Kingdom
