Fr. Aidan Writes:
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, And let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace,
Amen
November is the month of The Holy Souls in which we honor those who have passed on before us marked with the sign of Faith – Baptism. Every day one of the Masses will be offered for the re- pose of the souls of our loved ones, that they advance from purgatory to Heavenly glory. At the foot of the altar, you will find a chest to receive your envelope with the names of your loved ones and any offering you wish to make. The chest will remain at the foot of the altar all month as a symbol of our prayers and concern to hold these, our loved ones, before the Lord at this time. [At Los Alamos and Sisquoc, add the envelope to the offertory collection and it will be placed in the chest at SLdM and thus included in the Masses everyday.]
I am away from the parish until Friday 2nd of December, undertaking my duties as Vicar General of the Josephites, for meetings of the Josephites in England and the General Council of the Josephites in Belgium. I am also making a canonical visitation to our missions in Gabon with Fr Jacob the Superior General. (I arrive there on my Birthday!) This trip will also afford me a chance to see how some of last year’s Josephite Mission Appeal money has been put into good use. Again, I thank you in advance for all the support for this year’s appeal.
God bless you and your families.
Please pray for safe travels for Fr Jacob and me,
Fr Aidan Peter CJ
May God bless you, your families, and the week ahead,
Fr Aidan Peter
