We welcome Bishop Robert with us this weekend. He will celebrate the 11.30 Mass as a “Welcome Home” Mass for the Year of Mercy. We all must be proud of our Faith and our Church to the extent that we offer an open hand of friendship to anyone who wants to meet Christ here in our Community, but especially those who, for whatever reason, have been distant from the love of God in the Church. Bishop Robert will stay for a coffee and cookie reception afterwards in the Upper Room.
Unfortunately I’ll not be present as I am away at a conference that was pre-arranged. So I am not here 1st through 5th October. I’ll be back for the Family Festival Weekend then on Monday Oct 10th I will be travelling to Europe for a General Council meeting of the Josephites in my new role as Vicar General. Pray for me please. I will be back Oct 20th when I will be feeling a sense of déjà vu as that following weekend will be my first anniversary as Pastor of SLdM. How time flies….!
FESTIVAL FESTIVAL FESTIVAL !! Please make every effort to come and make this a great day for all. Can you offer some time to volunteer; if so sign up in the vestibule at SLdM Church or go on line and look up the festival link on sldm.org . This promises to be a really fun event for the whole parish on Sunday 9th. Please note that there will be no 11.30am Sunday Mass that day so kindly make arrangements to come at one of the other Mass times. Thanks.
God bless you and the week ahead,
Fr. Aidan Peter, CJ
