An Extended Version of the Lord’s Prayer
We are allowed to call you Father, O heavenly Lord God, because of your goodness to us and because your Son, Jesus Christ, has made us his brothers in the family of your church.
May your holy name be honored everywhere; may we learn to love you more; may more and more people come to love you.
May we and all other people learn to know and to do what you wish us to do.
Do not let our sins spoil your good world, but let the power of your goodness and love put all things right until all men worship you as King and God.
All things are heavenly when you are close; be close and make them heavenly amongst us on earth.
Give us day by day all that we need for our bodily welfare.
Forgive our sins. We promise to try to forgive those who have sinned against us.
Help us to overcome temptations of this world.
You are the Almighty God; you have won victory over evil on earth. Help us in all things to
praise you forever and ever.
