Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord
And let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace,
Amen
November is the month of The Holy Souls in which we honor those who have passed on before us marked with the sign of Faith – Baptism. Everyday one of the Masses will be offered for the repose of the souls of our loved ones, that they advance from purgatory to Heavenly glory. At the foot of the altar, you will find a chest to receive your envelope with the names of your loved ones and any offering you wish to make. Place this in the chest which will remain at the foot of the altar all month as a sign/symbol of our prayers and concern to hold these, our oved ones, before the Lord at this time. [At Los Alamos and Sisquoc add the envelope to the offertory collection and it will be placed in the chest at SLdM and thus included in the Masses everyday.]
I am away from the parish from Sunday 3rd to Saturday 16th November for meetings of the General Council of the Josephites in Belgium, a Canonical visitation of the Belgian confreres and events for the 150th anniversary of St George’s College in England. [Also I’ll accidentally turn 60 whilst I’m away and my family want to take me out for a lunch!]
May God bless you, your families, and the week ahead,
Fr Aidan Peter
