Fr. Aidan Writes:

It was a great pleasure to meet with Fr. John, a Coptic priest, at St Macarius, the great church on Clark Ave. This Christian Church, though new to us locally, is an ancient one founded by St Mark in Alexandria, Egypt, in the first century AD. The little white

church, though simple on the outside, is beautifully decorated with ikons inside. We welcome this community, our brothers and sisters in faith, to Orcutt. They had a great week of celebration. Last Sunday was Orthodox Easter and Monday was St Mark’s Day, a great Solemn Feast.
This weekend I will speak at all Masses at St Louis de Montfort about the parish Capital Campaign and state of the church building and its needs. I will speak at St Anthony’s next month and at Span- ish Masses next week. Our beloved church is in need of some real TLC (tender loving care1). The Capital Campaign is forging ahead. So far we have managed to hit 52% of our target of $3.5 million in pledges over the next five years. I really ask you all to think about how you can help support this very important task of securing our facilities for the years to come. Next year, 2023, is actually 60 years since the foundation of the parish; within three years the parishioners had built St Louis’ church. We must, therefore, rise to the occasion and raise some serious money to make the necessary repairs, refurbishment and alterations needed for our future.

Please keep offering fervent, daily prayer for peace with justice in the Ukraine. God bless,

Fr Aidan-Peter CJ

May God bless you, your families, and the week ahead,
