Fr. Aidan Writes:
March is the month of St Joseph. This is of course very important to the Josephite Fathers who hold St Joseph in high esteem, for he is our Patron. Our Founder, Canon Constant van Crombrugghe, decided to become a priest rather than a merchant like his own Father after a novena to St Joseph. The Founder considered Joseph a great model of quiet faithfulness and honor and to be a man of gentleness and loving devotion to Mary. So it was natural for him to place his first band of brothers under the protection and patronage of St Joseph. His qualities we try to model as The Josephite Community. St Joseph was given the great duty of naming the child born of Mary and the Holy Spirit, Jesus. This made him, in the Jewish law of the time, his Father in all things. Joseph must have taken his fatherhood seriously to raise for us such a wonderful savior.
We have many people attending the RE Congress this weekend; perhaps we could keep all our catechists in our prayers.
Progress on the vestibule is advancing. We hope to have the vestibule open (if not finished) by Easter. The doors we hope to have ready by then too. Thank you for putting up with the disruption.
God bless to you and your families.
