Fr Aidan Peter Writes:

Fr. Aidan Writes:

In today’s Gospel, we have the encounter between Jesus and the woman at the well. Je- sus is thirsty for water, and the woman also exclaims that she thirsts for the water of life; we see that Jesus is thirsting for her faith. This is part of the dynamic of our relationship with God that we sometimes forget; Jesus thirsts for our faith. Often we are focused on how we thirst for Jesus but how much more does the God of love thirst for us! When we dig deep into this mystery of God’s love for us, we can only end up becoming people of thanksgiving – “Eucharistia”. At this stage in Lent, we might focus on God’s love for us and how we give thanks for it.
I also want to give thanks to God for Fr Dominic DeMaio OP, who over the last two weeks delivered our parish mission in Spanish and English. The Mission was engaging, enlightening and very well attended. It was what we needed to continue our parish journey back into fullness of life after the last 2-3 years of CoVid doldrums, etc. He helped us to face our fears, our resentments and our rivalries by relying on deepening our relationship and reliance on Our Lord, and his gift of the forgiveness of God. We wish him well and keep in our prayers all the Dominican Scholastics support- ed by our donations. We also wish him an easier journey home, rather than the dreadful stormy journey he had to endure to get here!
God bless you and your families, Fr. AP

May God bless you, your families, and the week ahead,
