Last weekend we celebrated the Confirmations of 127 of our mainly younger members. Bishop Thomas Curry celebrated for us with his usual kindly wisdom.
The following day was Ascension Sunday when Our Lord went up with trumpet blast. But only after 40 days of preaching the resurrection message of peace without fear. Only such a peace can lead to unity. Yet this week we see the apostles and our Blessed Mother locked away in a room out of fear for what might happen to them. But with the gift of the Holy Spirit they go out with fearless hope to proclaim the Good News of Christ’s Kingdom of light, happiness and peace. Let us go out with the same attitude and joyful message and do the same – proclaim in thought, word and deed.
