Fr. Aidan Writes:
We had a wonderful return of the parish picnic last weekend. The weather was perfect; sunny, but not too hot, and with a little breeze. The kids enjoyed the piñatas (thanks to the Hispanic Community Consejo for gifting and organizing them). Fr Armand preached so well on the Trinity, with his usual élan, and the 11.30 choir came out in force and led us in the praise of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I want to pay a special tribute to the work of the Knights, especially Mike Hunstad as chief BBQ pit-master, and Joe and Joanne Plummer for all their organization in preparing and cooking the excellent pork loin sandwiches and the rest of the food and drinks. The food was excel- lent and we made around 300 meals! A lot of preparation and set-up was undertaken beforehand, and I want to thank Patty and Art on the parish team for all the extra work they put into making sure all went well. It did.
That’s a lot of thanking, which gives me the opportunity to segue into this Sunday’s Feast of Corpus Christi. Following on from Last Sunday’s focus on the Holy Trinity, we now focus on how we sacra- mentally encounter the Word made flesh in Jesus the Body of Christ. The Eucharist means Thanks- giving. To honor the centrality of the Sacramental Body of Christ in the heart of the Church, the Body of Christ alive and active in the world, we will have a happy return of our Corpus Christi procession around our campus. This will commence at about 1.15 pm in the Gathering Area. Please come and show your devotion to the Most Blessed Sacrament.
God bless you and your families
