Week of June 18, 2023
Fr Aidan Peter Writes:

Fr. Aidan Writes:

After last week’s celebrations of Corpus Christi, with the prayerful and joyful pro- cession in the afternoon, (thanks to Fr John and all the various ministry teams who helped organize it) we finally settle into ordinary time. I also realize that last week’s bulletin piece should have been for this weekend. Sorry about that! So, rather than twiddle my thumbs, I will offer this thought and then a couple of more practical things.
Going out to the “lost sheep” means inviting folk back to church community and worship life. Every Sunday I look out and see so many faithful members at Mass and that is always heart- warming. But I also see many pews with lots of wood exposed! If each of us were able to really use the courage that is gifted to us by the Holy Spirit to invite folk back and make them welcome, then we would greatly enhance our parish life and worship. We can’t leave it up to others, each of us has to do this please. Go out to the lost sheep!

Thank you for your prayers and concerns for my health. The operation went well, but soon afterwards I developed a very nasty infection that laid me low for ten days when I should have been convalescing. I suppose at 63 you start realizing that you don’t bounce back as quickly as you used to. That is now resolved, and I am back but at about 90% capacity! Again, thanks for the love.

Sunday, June 25th , is the parish picnic. The 11.30 Mass at Pioneer Park will also be Fr Alfred’s Golden Jubilee of priesthood celebration. Please arrange to come to that Mass and show your love and support for him.

God bless you and your families, Fr Aidan Peter CJ

May God bless you, your families, and the week ahead,
