Week Of June 10th
Fr Aidan Peter Writes:

This weekend we have a 2nd collection to help support the increasing number of sick and retired priests in the Diocese. These men have worked very hard, some have had to undertake serious and difficult placements but all of them with the desire to be God’s good servant serving the people He has placed in their care.  Please give them your generous support.

This Sunday we formally bless and install our new military banner. Please keep these men and women in your prayers for they serve to keep us all safe and secure and deserve our affection and support.

You will also note at SLdM that there are two new and wonderful liturgical banners above the altar. These have been bought with the aid of money from an anonymous donor whom we thank. We are now back in ordinary time but I think these banners are so beautiful that they make us realize that this great liturgical season of joy and action in the Spirit is anything but ordinary.

Our Grade 8 students from SLdM have graduated and the school year finishes this coming Friday. Last week we had a celebration lunch for the highest number of boys and girls in yrs 7 and 8 who have received  a 3.5 grade point average or above; who have been “beyond peer levels of behavior” and have shown exemplary citizenship. This is a testament to their application and personalities and the hard work of the staff throughout the year. I want to thank them all for their realization of excellent Catholic elementary school education.

Please also keep Joanne Poloni in your prayers. She retires after 40 years of service at St Joe’s the last eight of which she has been Principal. Ad Multos Anos!

May God bless you, your families, and the week ahead,

Fr Aidan Peter
