As you read this I will be driving from England to Belgium with Fr Adrian, the Regional Assistant Superior for England, to attend the Josephite Enlarged General Council meeting held at the Josephite French Speaking Boarding School at La Berliere. We will meet up with others including Frs Ludo and Alfred for this annual reporting, discussion and decision making meeting. At the end of it will be the annual celebration day for the European Josephites. Several of the English confreres will come over to Belgium for this event. It is a great time of brothers to be together in prayer and in community. It will have an extra blessing as Brs Gerardo and Romualdo will be renewing their vows at that celebration in the presence of Fr Jacob the Superior General. This is their first visit to other Josephite communities and regions and we hope it will be one to remember for them.
After that meeting, I will have a short 10 break with my family especially to celebrate my brother James’ 60th Birthday. It will be a mad gathering of the clan! I hope you can find time to rest and recreate with your families this summer season. I’ll be back on Friday 29th July
Look after Fr John who will be overseeing all pastoral matters whilst I’m away. Fr Mark is rebuilding his strength after having a successful procedure to put in a pace maker. Frs Ed and Charles will help out with Masses and confessions.
