Week Of July 2nd

Week Of July 2nd
Fr Aidan Peter Writes:

The summer vacation is upon us and I hope you all manage to have a good one. It is probably my Englishness getting in the way but I much prefer the term “Holiday” to “Vacation”. Holiday, from “Holy Day”, implies a purpose and of course a religious one at that. Vacation to me denotes vacant or vacuum or …nothing! So my wish really is actually that you have a happy holiday full of holiness and fun because as the L’Oreal adverts would say, “You’re worth it”!
During the Month of July Fr Alfred and I will be, with Fr Ludo, at the annual Enlarged General Council in Belgium for a week. We will also have time to see our families afterwards. So I will be away from the parish until 29th July and Fr Alfred until August 4th. Frs John, Mark, Ed & Charles will help out in the parish in the meantime.
Some folk have been asking about the building and maintenance projects that happen in the summer. There are several that will take place including the surfacing of the car park. Details and dates, when they are finalized, will be published as soon as we know. Several things out to tender and or having final planning points resolved. We only do such things when we have got everything in place i.e. “When we have all our ducks in a row”…or is that another of my odd English sayings?
I wish you all a very happy Independence Day and may God bless America.

May God Bless You and Your Families,

Fr. Aidan Peter, CJ

May God bless you, your families, and the week ahead,
