Fr. Aidan Writes:
Dear everyone!
In the second reading from scripture this weekend, we hear from St Paul about there being many forms of service, but always to the same Lord, and many gifts filled with the same
Spirit. I call upon all parishioners to pray and think about what ways you might serve the Church or offer your giftedness and talents to the life of the parish. There are so many liturgical ministries available: Lector, Eucharistic Ministry , Singing, Musician, Welcoming, Ushering, Children’s Litur- gy etc.
Also, there are other opportunities with the many groups of prayer, of fellowship and of service. We always need people to help share the faith through catechetics for our children and for adult groups. So please spend a moment or two pondering on making 2022 the year you will consider to come forward and help us be the beacon of faith here in Orcutt and beyond.
Please keep in your diaries next Saturday, the 22nd Jan., which is a national day of prayer for the le- gal protection of the unborn. We will have a morning of adoration after the 8.00am Mass, ending with Benediction at 11.00am. Come and spend a few moments praying for this important issue. The Santa Maria walk for life is this Sunday 16th in the afternoon (not next Sunday as I erroneously stat- ed last week). See the article in the bulletin for details.
God bless us all and the year ahead, Fr AP
May God bless you, your families, and the week ahead,
Fr Aidan Peter
