Week Of August 6th

Week Of August 6th
Fr Aidan Peter Writes:

It was good to be away and it is good to be back! I was able to attend a very good week of Josephite meetings and then had a chance to be with my family when we gathered as a clan to celebrate my brother’s sixtieth birthday. He thanks you for all your prayers for his recovery from prostate cancer which has gone very well indeed.

I hope you are all having the possibility of a happy vacation with family and friends. In England we call vacation “Holidays” as they were the feast days of the Church i.e. holy-days. I’d like to think that we could look at vacations as holy-days with our families and friends. I’m not keen of the term “quality time” as all time is a gift and therefore should be seen as quality; but perhaps “Holy- time” might be a good replacement term.

The Bible camp has been in full swing this week with many children coming to learn about their faith through scripture and play and there are many of a teenagers helping out which is a great sign and witness to their growth as young Catholic Christians.

We had a wonderful concert on Friday last week from the boys choir, Maitrese du Haut France. Thanks for the good turn out and a very big thank you to all the hosting families offering a bed for the night for the boys and the staff.

One of our summer projects is the resurfacing of the carparks. So a little forewarning; the School and Basketball Courts will be resurfaced on the 16th: Los Alamos on the 17th and the Main SLDM car park will be done a little later. People ask about our other projects. They are in hand but as you can imagine the wheels of planning, applications, etc. can roll slowly especially when we want to get everything right.

May God Bless You and Your Families,

Fr. Aidan Peter, CJ

May God bless you, your families, and the week ahead,
