It is good to be back in Santa Maria,
Whilst England is my home of origin, Santa Maria is my home now. As usual, there has been quite a bit to get up to speed with, and I thank the whole pastoral and administrative teams for looking after things so well. We had a very good Josephite enlarged council. Several young men in our African Province have been advanced to perpetual vows, deaconate ordination and one this year for priesthood. Please pray for them as they progress in their vocations as Josephites.
I also managed to have a wonderful time with family at two weddings. Lovely ceremonies and great fun parties.
Please pray also for Frs Adrian and Jude in England. Both are in their 80’s. Fr Jude is Fr Mark’s novice brother and is frail, Fr Adrian is still recovering from a major operation and chemotherapy for cancer of the gullet. His last scan and x-rays showed no sign of the cancer, thank the good Lord.
Fr Alfred has now gone on his summer holiday, this time to his family and friends in Belgium. He’ll be back at the end of the month. We wish him happy and safe travels.
The Gathering Area planters are soon to arrive, and we will be able to get on with the final stages of that project.
Catechetical programs start registering soon, so see the bulletin and website for details.
And so the parish life continues!
May God bless you, your families, and the week ahead,
Fr Aidan Peter
