Happy Easter Everybody! May the gift of the resurrection of Christ be with you and your loved ones this Easter Season. Yes remember it is a season, not just a day, so you have another 40 days or so of celebrating to go until Pentecost! We celebrated with great devotion and joy and symbolism the whole of the Triduum and welcomed our newly baptized members in to our community. Unfortunately I got the flu on the Saturday. I just about got through the Vigil and took to my bed until Tuesday. I’m still getting used to the CA bugs! I want to thank all those involved for their dedication to the Easter Liturgies also a special thanks to Fr Koelker for celebrating two of the Easter Sunday Masses for me.
This Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday. We have our adult confirmations this Sunday at the 11:30 Mass. This is another great witness to the joy of the witness we give here in the parish. Also Divine Mercy Sunday reminds us that we are a pilgrimage Church and as such we must express the mercy of Christ in everything we do and welcome all those who will visit and make the Holy Door visit of indulgence. Have you made yours?
Next weekend the Hispanic Community celebrate the Divine Mercy Congresso over at the Santa Maria Fairpark. This large event is a great public witness to our faith. We wish them all the best in the organisation of the event.
God bless you all for the Easter season.
