Fr. Aidan Writes:
We celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem this Sunday, crying out, “Hosanna”, “Save us”. At that time, the people of Judea were clamoring to be saved from the Roman occupation and the broken governance of their own leaders. In the past, they cried out for freedom from slavery in Egypt. Today, with all Christians, we clamor for God’s mercy and forgiveness from sin and death. The Sunday before Ash Wednesday we heard the teaching, “Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect”. The events of Holy week, that we celebrate ahead of us, is when that perfection comes to fulfillment. To be perfect is not necessarily to have everything just so, orderly and in their perfect places, but rather, that the task/journey is finished and complete. Jesus says this from the Cross, “It is accomplished”. He has done his Father’s will. That too, must be our focus this last week before Easter. Can we say that we have completed God’s will for us?
This bulletin contains all the information for our celebrations at the three churches that you need. Please be supportive of Christ and accompany him liturgically as he redeems us by his blood.
Have a holy “Holy Week!” God bless, Fr Aidan-Peter CJ
May God bless you, your families, and the week ahead,
