Faith Formation Weekly Update (9/30)

Faith Formation Weekly Update (9/30)

Welcome to Week 5 of Faith Formation classes and welcome to the month of October. The entire month of October is dedicated to the Mother of God under the advocation of Our Lady of the Rosary, celebrated by the Church on the 7th and because of this, October is known as the month of the Rosary. I’ve attached some helpful links about the Rosary, and how to pray the Rosary to this email. The rosary is a great prayer to pray together as a family. Thank you to everyone who was able to make it to our 1st Family Night. We had a blast learning about Jesus the Good Shepherd. Our next Family Night is Wednesday October 24th, on Jesus the Truth, so mark you calendars now. Here’s what’s coming up this week.

Verse of the Week- “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” -Luke 1:38

Theme of the Week- In honor of the month of the Rosary, all classes will be learning about the Rosary.

Parish Festival- This Sunday October 7th, from 10:30am – 5pm is our annual parish festival. This will be a great afternoon of fun, food, and community. I know my kids will probably stationed in the bounce house the entire time. I hope to see many of you out there.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word- Due to the Parish Festival there is NO Children’s Liturgy of the Word next Sunday. We will return the following week October 14th.

VIRTUS Training– There is another VIRTUS training on Tuesday October 9th from 6:30pm- 9:30pm in the 8th Grade Class room. This is a Archdiocesean requirement for anyone who volunteers/works for children. If you think you may want to volunteer for Children’s Ministry (or another ministry hear at the church) I would encourage you to attend this training. Preregistration is required. If you are interested please reply to this email and I will give you more details.

Parents’ Night– Mark your Calendar for our 1st Parents’ Night of the Year, Thursday October 11th from 7:30pm – 8:30pm in the Upper Room. Parents’ Night is an opportunity to grow in community with fellow parents, as well as strengthen your own faith. This year we will be exploring the book Rediscovering Jesus by Matthew Kelly with the goal of strengthening our own relationship with Jesus. Also, since this is the 1st Parents’ Night (and we want to do it right) There will be a wine-tasting hosted by Presqu’ile Winery. So come spend an hour with fellow parents, enjoy a nice glass of wine, while you Rediscover Jesus in your own life. Childcare is provided.

Have a blessed Week. Holy Mary, Mother of God. Pray for Us.
